Me reuní con Pete Seeger hace como un año en varias ocasiones cuando accedió a realizar un concierto para nuestra organización ambiental sin fines de lucro, Air Soil Water.
Había escuchado sobre nuestra lucha en contra del fracking y la infraestructura de un gasoducto y sin titubearlo se comprometió a ayudarnos. Sus únicas condiciones fueron: 1) Que estuviera relacionado con una cusa; 2) Que el no recibiera honorario alguno; 3) Que los boletos tuvieran un precio moderado y no hubieran boletos VIP (preferenciales) y 4) Que como cena le diéramos comida china de un sitio local, nada elegante.
Es el tipo de persona que era: Un verdadero hombre de pueblo y un tesoro americano.

I met Pete Seeger a few times about a year ago when he agreed to a concert for our non-profit environmental organization, Air Soil Water.
He had heard about our fight against fracking and pipeline infrastructure and without hesitation he agreed to help.
His only stipulations were that: 1) It was cause-related; 2) He personally doesn’t get paid; 3) Tickets were moderately priced and there would be no VIP ticket pricing and 4) That to eat he wanted Chinese food from a local ‘hole in the wall’ place and nothing fancy.
That is the kind of guy he was, a true Everyman and a real American treasure.
